river pics and report

I fished the ol miss on Friday and Saturday. Friday was pool 4 and there wasn’t too much action but we didn’t try too hard cause it was a family day. However onto Pool 5 on Saturday and when we found them they were snapping pretty well. My guests for this day were Marcus, Ben and Nate. A little background on these three: Marcus – pure mans man and an ogre by nature, Ben a techy guy who wears his lifejacket all day looking like a 6th grader, Nate a little person who is a professional figure skater. Yeah I am sure our crew looked awesome. We tried a few spots that usually have some current and there was nothing on them. But once we found current we got them to smash swim Jigs pretty quick. As I stopped to help tie on a few swim jigs, Marcus found it necessary to push us off the log with all his mite we were hung up on and as he pushed the oar slipped of the log and Marcus found himself wet very quickly – this not being the worse part, the worse part was he landed on an underwater log and gashed his leg wide open. I am guessing he found our favorite invasive species the zebra mussels and they are sharp. The following picture is mildly graphic. After taking Marcus back to the boat ramp so he could head home to fix his leg we came back to that spot only to find another boat had discovered our little treasure. We managed a few more on swim jigs and then had to head home to due clogged impeller.
