Feb 4th bassin again

As we get closer to spring I still am trying to scratch my fishing itch. So we went back to the winter open water. This time I had the pleasure of fishing with Josh from our ZVBM club. We started out taking a long walk and Josh was the first to draw blood catching 3-4 out of a brush pile but they were just babies. As we moved on I started early getting a near 3lber on a mimic minnow, and followed it up shortly after with one that was over 3. I was pretty pumped and we were catching plenty of little bucks and Josh said, “let’s go find some bigger ones.” So we continued our walk. We got to an eddy with some good rocks and we started catching some 2lbers with consistency. Josh fishing and exposed hook most of the day had been fighting snags most of the day. He had broke some of but most of the time he was able to snap them out. However on one particular snag he tried to snap it out several time and after a dozen attempts at getting it out he bared down to break it off and what do you know a fish sucked it out of the snag. Josh went from pulling to snap it off to pulling into a fish’s mouth and a good one at that. This fish went nearly 4lbs and would have had she been full of food or eggs. She was good looking and made for a nice ending to the trip as we had to go shortly after. Although I think I caught more numbers josh got the biggun award of the day. It was a good time to fish with Josh and many stories were told along the way.

Josh even had time to work while we drove home - but yes I was a little scared when he drove with his eyes close
