Christmas list 4, 3 and 2

Number 4 – Biosonix – So just in case you don’t know what this is, it is a speaker that goes in the water that has fish sounds on it. Normally I don’t think this would help a whole lot in the upper Midwest due to most of the sounds on here are shad sounds but we do have gaggles of shad on the river especially in the fall. This one makes the wish list but really I would just like to try it out for a season on the Mississippi river here in se MN – however I have hear from far too many elite guys, guys that aren’t even sponsored by them that they are worth every cent and fellas that don’t have them regretting that they don’t.

Number 3 – Shimano Caenan – so I have heard some mixed reviews on this one but after doing my homework they are basically a Curado in disguise. They do have some cheaper plastic parts but as far as fishabilitiy, castability and Shimano smoothness it is all there. And for the price WOWZAS – I think we owe Skeet Reese a thank you as to he was one of the first pros to make a push towards more economical rods and reels. Again I don’t have one of these (yet) but would love to get one to try them out as they seem they are going to be great - Mr. Mercer says it well below!!



Number 2 – Livewell renovation – I own a 86 champion fish and ski and it is great the only problem with old boats like that are for a short time they thought it was a good idea to but livewells in the front and in back of the boat – like his and hers, however what they discovered is that they are fish killers – if you actually use the front livewell there is good chance you kill them due to concussions of waves and if you use the back livewell it is just to small to put more than about 5 bass in it. So what I would really like is to get some custom livewell work done so that way I can have a livewell big enough to hold 10 fish of good size. I have looked up the custom livewell guys and they are Minnesota based and I will be giving them a try.Last season as badly as i hate to admit it I had my livewell fail the first tourney of the year and it cost me the win!! that won't be happening this year. Christmas list 7,6 and 5

Number 7 – Mudhole gift cards – Well this one may not apply to everyone but it sure will to me and many other rod makers. Due to a friends generosity I have recently acquired many rod blanks for a cheap price and now I need to put guides and reel seats and handles on all of them – although it may seem inexpensive to do all those little guides really add up. Also I need to make my kids a rod a piece as well. So a Mudhole gift card gets the nod from this guy.


Number 6 – Life Jacket – I could use some life jackets that are not so bulky like the self inflatable or automatic life jackets like the Mustang brand ones. Although I could never see myself splurging on the money and getting one for myself I certainly and many other bassers would agree wouldn’t turn down this gift. I don’t have a ton of storage in my boat so having these little devils would sure be helpful.

Number 5 – Jackplate – although I haven’t done my homework on this product I could see a good need for one on everyone’s boat but especially mine. When I am running the champion I shoot a huge rooster to get maximum speed that means my efficiency probably sucks and I am wasting energy shooting all that water in the air. Also it would be nice to have one because many times I am running skinny water on the Miss. River and I have heard from many river rats that they couldn’t live without theirs, as well as many other people so its

These videos are great, they are a little repetitious in style but it is fast action and good info. I own one of the seasons and have looked at buying this four pack several times but will probalby hold off because I have some rods I need to make this winter and have plenty of fishing videos to watch to pass the time. The only downside sometimes to these movies is the Rick Clunn part. He is a fantastic fisherman don’t get me wrong – but I am not much for his zen stuff and rythms and stuff, but that’s my preference.

Christmas list 10 and 9

This will be the beginning of a series – I will shoot to get a list done of top 10 gifts for a bass guy or at least this bass guy

Number 10 - Power Pole – I realize this one is a stretch for many people’s budgets (mine included) but man these things are the deal. Even for fishing offshore I have been told that they are excellent at slowing a drift and if they can reach weeds they will hang up on the weeds really good. After watching the video this one is self explanatory.







Number 9 - This one is for anyone who loves a little top water but as Bub explains this frog [transporter frog(transporting from the mat to the weighing)] was made to be a multi-faceted tool. The fact that the frog has ‘walking’ action or a side to side sashay without trimming anything is a plus. Also it has the ability to plop and spit is a bonus and after him showing in the tackle warehouse video how the hook is exposed from no matter which way a bass hits it and the fact that the hook is pointed up and not forward had got to help with hooking percentage.
